Although only a decade old, this home was showing signs of wear earlier than expected. Our renovation begins with new triple-pane aluminum windows—chosen for their ability to last as long as the house itself—bringing enhanced comfort, efficiency, and durability. The exterior will follow with a traditional three-coat stucco finish over a vented rainscreen, ensuring resilience against the Pacific Northwest climate.
This is just the beginning. Future phases will continue the home’s transformation, pairing performance-driven upgrades with timeless design. Stay tuned.

Not every renovation begins with inspiration. In this case, a short-lived plumbing leak caused extensive damage throughout a beloved “we grew our family here” 1939 cottage-style home. From this difficult starting point, we’re helping the family turn setback into opportunity.
Upgrades to the building shell—new wood-clad windows, triple-pane aluminum patio doors, flash & fill insulation, a heat recovery ventilator, and a ductless mini split—will vastly enhance comfort and performance. From there, Lord Design will reimagine the interiors, creating a home that reflects the next chapter in our clients’ family story.

What began as a modest masonry house without modern reinforcement has been almost entirely reimagined. Deconstruction made way for a complete rebuild, transforming the property into a high-performance sanctuary designed for longevity and comfort.
Triple-pane windows, continuous insulation, meticulous air-sealing, and a highly efficient heat recovery ventilation system will ensure the home performs beautifully in every season. A standing-seam metal roof and lap siding over a vented rain screen will provide durability and timeless character, while interiors are being thoughtfully curated by the Sill Design team.
For our clients, this home is more than an architectural upgrade—it’s retirement peace of mind chosen for its proximity to children and grandchildren and crafted to sustain family gatherings for as long as the house remains in the family.
